A wooden stand for your laptop in a vertical position, allowing good ventilation and saving space on your desk.
For work, I use a MacBook with two external monitors. Since the MacBook's screen is not constantly useful to me, most of the time the MacBook is placed, lid closed, on my desk. It takes up space and regularly blows loudly to ventilate.
Having already seen vertical laptop stands on the interweb, I had in mind to quickly make a simple stand for my PC.
After taking some measurements, cutting scraps of pine cleats, gluing, then grooving and cutting with a miter saw, sanding, and finally laminating cork "sheets" to cushion and prevent scratching the laptop lid, here is the result:
I am happy with the result and the stability: I was afraid that the laptop would tip over and fall if it was unbalanced, but the weight of the stand and its width (70mm) are sufficient to keep it firmly in place.
